Grrrrrr. I am FURIOUS!

Just got home to find that with the post on the mat, is a while you are out card saying they attempted to deliver 2 parcels today at midday.

My Ar&* they did. My OH was at home ALL day, sitting about 2ft from the front door, and primed to listen out as i warned him some plants were being delivered.

So, thats my plants dead, as i cant get a redelivery till Friday, and i have to give them 48 hours, yes 48HOURS before i can go and collect.

WTF are they doing with the parcel for 48 hours!!!

And the last 4 redeliveries i have arranged didnt show up on the redelivery day, and so had to be arranged for 2 days later again. So looks like my plants sent yesterday, will most likely turn up on Monday.
Bol7*ks.

I'm sick of it. I'm soooo going to ring up and demand the lazy Shi*e gets sacked for Foo*in up my mail, AGAIN!

Grrr. Ok,. Rant over.. :p

kira....don't sack the OH.

Hmm.
Older men in shorts. Well it can be perfectly acceptable, or perfectly hideous.

It depends on the older man.
And if they have ridiculously skinny legs and a big belly.
And it depends on what style of shorts
And it depends on what they are wearing on their feet

Some parameters please?

did you not see the note pop through the door?

Sqad. LOLOLOL
That made me chuckle.. The OH is safe for now, if i sack him, it will be for something else, rather than mismanaging my mail.
Like forgetting my birthday (in a couple of weeks time).
Young girl who lives across the street asked yesterday if I'd taken a parcel in for her. She got a card through the door saying it had been left at number 48.....there is no number 48 in our street......
I was just thinking the same Cazz? Didn't he hear the letterbox flap with the note?
What's this then, wind up postdog day!!

Two things.

1) writing a note is a pain, so if a note was written, chances are they DID try but got no answer - does the bell work?

2) Plants, being plants, are generally left in a safe place with a note telling you where, maybe just a scribble on a letter. At any rate, that's the deal where I deliver.
it's obvious ,he fell asleep.
on a brighter note it's been a lovely day.
Question Author
Hi Cazz. Nope. there is an inner door, and an outer door, and the mail drops into the lobby between, so you cant see it. He works from home, so doesnt always go pick the mail when it arrives, but would answer the door if someone knocked.

We have had this problem before, where the postie turns up with cards pre written, and scarpers as he puts it through the door. I've watched him do it from upstairs and had to run down the road after him!!

dont understand the logic of the postman, surely it would be easier for him to deliver the post? unless he is running late?

I would complain about him if he does this regularly
Question Author
Postdog.. sorry, not a deliberate attempt to wind you up...

On occasion, they do leave parcels in the cupboard, but not always.

And yes, you would hear if they knocked.. As i said to Cazz, for some reason on this patch they have an aversion to delivery parcels.. i have seen him walk up the drive with a note in his hand and shove it through the letterbox!!

Never a problem in my old house, but this sorting office sucks!!

Can you explain why it requires 48 hours before collection??/?
Guess i'm lucky, sometimes they ask for 72!
Question Author
I dont understand it either Cazz. I can only assume that with the new timed routes, he feels he cant spare the time to stop and wait for people to answer the door, so prewrites cards so he can zoom off and finish in time.
hi is it a possibility that your OH actually wasnt there all day?
Question Author
Hi Poltergeist. I did ask him and he was in all day.. And i believe him- he is in the midst of a huge project for work. He has been working all day for 10 days, and not left the house once, and generally even stop to eat unless i'm working from home and get up to make him something.
now then , now then polty
Not 48 hours, as that seems too long, but it's basically so that you don't waste time going to collect it BEFORE it has been processed for collection.
