MM Links Solutions June 2009 [Week 4]

The fourth links game set by Don Corleone has just closed, bringing to an end the June set of games.

I can now reveal the chosen links that you were seeking were:

last WALTZ
bird BRAIN
CREAM biscuit
guide BOOK

Once again the early birds picked off the best worms - details follow . . .

Jools, as entrant #4 was first to score 2 points with BIRD BRAIN. Three other bird brains in the form of Christiana, Grenmus & Miss Meg were within the requesite two minutes for 2 points each.

Tearinghair found his/her way to 2 points with GUIDE BOOK and not to be outdone, Jools' othe half, Jim, was within time for 2 points as well.

At 9:03, entrant #12, Lysander waltzed away with two points for LAST WALTZ - a combination that was only chosen by one other person throughout the whole game.

CREAM BISCUIT was the last to fall (sounds like a racehorse) at 9:04 when cliffyg collected 2 well-deserved points for a match that nobody else went for.

The only double-hitter in the whole game was Jobjockey (2 single points) so I now pronounce
Jobjockey is HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!

(as crofter always says)

So with nine people scoring 2 points and a further eight picking up a single point, how does that affect the league table for June?

At the top, on 8 points we have Jools

In equal second place, on 6 points are cliffyg, Dinkypuzzled, lysander & miss meg

And runners up on 4 points are Christiana, grannydi & jobjockey

That just leaves one final decision to make - and I cannot make it without crofter's records of who has and who hasn't been crowned as a setter before.

The next setter will therefore be announced in a short while and will be posted below by crofter who is due home any time now.
Please look back into this thread later to find out who will have the honour.

Remember July is the start of a new month so a clean slate for everyone.

Thanks for the 2 points - think they were the only ones this month. Congratulations to Jools and everyone who scored.

I'll almost certainly have to miss next week - away Fri a.m. until Sunday evening and probably not able to get to a computer - so good luck to everyone and see you all the following week.

That is noted tearing hair, but not sure if I will ever have to use it again.

Yes, you finished on a high in a low-scoring month when 12 players scored zero and applied for membership of the free-fall club. 2 points was very good.

Well I never 'The Winner' - But however I am a past setter all be it a couple of years ago......... So I suspect crofter will be looking for 'Fresh Blood'. I think there are a couple of those named. But I'm prepared to set next month if need be. I'll await crofters decision. Thanks to Don for his links and I'm glad I manage to fathom a few of them. And of course thanks to crofter and to Gen2. Jools xx

I don't think I scored any points this month !!! Thanks Gen for helping out and thanks Crofter for keeping this game going. Congrats Jobjockey on being Hotshot and Jools for being top scorer.
I am off to Brixham tomorrow but will hopefully do links from there.

thank you deecee131 for an interesting month and for proving once and for all that I am a total bird brain!! Now welcome back to the other side again!! Thanks too to crofter and gen2 and well done all you high(?) scorers and last waltzers. For me, the thought of a 'clean slate' is a very inviting one!! :0)

My best month ever - mind I haven't been playing very long.
Well done Jools.
I look forward to next month though I may be hard pressed to compete on July 11th as this is the day for my Mum's 100th birthday party.
