Oh well here goes, I have completed grid etc, and have highlighted one 7 letter word, 2 three letter abbreviations and one 4 letter word ( which I think are correct ) can anyone give me a hint towards what other 16 cells to highlight, thanks in advance

There is a six-letter word listed vertically in alternate cells to the left of the 4 letter word and a ten letter word on the other side split into two sections of five also in alternate cells in two columns.
