Accepting the fact that all internet users can Google:

I was under the mistaken impression that the AB was for people to ask and answer questions, the posters being people with certain expertise in the fields of Music, Law Motoring etc etc except for CB which was for people with limited expertise.

Why do posters then post links which could easily be found by the questioner?

If I could actually address your question:

I have to challenge your assertion that "all internet users can Google". As far as I can tell only a very small percentage of people actually know how to search for a specific string (rather than for individual words). Even fewer know how to exclude terms from search results, or to force their inclusion. Similarly only a handful of people seem to know how to restrict a search to a specific website.

So those of us who can do those things like to help out those that can't, by finding and posting relevant links.
