Thanks for the link, kayakamina. I agree, nothing to get excited about, as I find with most of Doc's puzzles. But as he's the editor, there's no point complaining! I also assume 23dn is singular, though as far as I can see it could equally be a plural. Ho hum
Good morning K, and thanks for the link .
Just a decision to be made about 23d as turnerjmw says.

It was a breeze - I've gone with singular at 23D.
Yes, relatively easy but help please. Have I gone wrong? I have a choice of fourth letter in 45 ac. - a common word and a more unusual one connected with jewels.
No, you're quite right. That is certainly an option, too. I simply failed to notice it and went with the common one!
Thanks!
Thank you, K. I'm sure this was a close variation on another, quite recent one, and I agree with everyone else that it wasn't very exciting. I was at a client's house overnight, so I printed it off this morning to do on the train between Ledbury and York. Unfortunately it was all over long before Birmingham New Street.
Many thanks for link
Had tried to provide my early morning service but, as happens on here relatively frequently, I couldn't get a link to work.

Whatever happened to the cross referencing function that used to exist here some time ago i.e. a link would be provided to previous answers that related to the question asked? If it returned it would significantly cut down on the number of repeat requests - a significant proportion of which I find a tad annoying as some people appear to be unable to search for answers to their 'new' questions beyond the front page.
Thanks for the link, K and good to see you back Greyfox. Wont be starting until tomorrow.
