AnswerBank Site Queries

Dear All,
As always please place all site concerns and feedback in reply to this. I hope you have noticed some improvements recently.
Q&Pers should consider this: http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Answerbank-Suggestions/Question808666.html and leave some feedback. Shawnee is making a point which could change the shape of AnswerBank. Ideally we would like a different "Question Form" for quizzes which gives extra fields for users to fill in, making it easier for our database to search and users to find their quiz. This is not quite for today though!
G.NOME was playing up over the weekend, so some may have been caught in a bit of the cross-fire. Let us know and we'll be able to refine the G.NOME targeting system even further.
The kettle is on and I'll get the biscuits out in a mo.
All the best,
Spare Ed

It is not coping very well with the workload that exists on Sundays when there are a lot of users. Sunday before was just the same as well !! It was as bad as AB1 if not worse as Q & A were going astray. Site Navigation was bad because of the Server problems.

Why no guidance in Quizzes and Puzzles and Crosswords on what is required. This function was there on quizzes and puzzles before, and you constantly said it would be added to crosswords. Now not on either and you call this progress? Newbies are no longer in green. This was useful to know who needed guidance. New people often dont know they can say thanks in their own thread so this needs to be pointed out somewhere. Why have you introduced "Articles"? Not needed on this site. What happened to stars for answers. I still dont understand something which had obviously not been tested at all. Very amateurish.

I think we're going to have the server problems sorted soon. It shouldnt be a millions miles away.
grasscarp, the Q&P guidelines should be up - you are correct. I am unsure why they are not currently! We'll have to look into that. As to your other requests: we are working on it. I am unsure what your problem with "Articles" is? Users will be able to generate their own guides to their specialities. For example, how many times do you think ChuckFickens has to explain setting up a wireless network and the like? If he can simply point a user towards a piece he has written himself he can be sure they will: 1.Get the information they require from him and, 2.Save time on telling everyone the same thing!

I have noticed that the 'swearing monitor' on the system seems to have deserted its post. This has meant that the usual suspect can barely contain his glee at being able to use as much bad language as he can.............
Has this now been rectified ?
Or shall I have to continue to manually report his outbursts ?

Currently when you report a question myself and the Big Ed are alerted by email, we can then use our new banning tools to remove posts and ban users in the context of the web page, rather than as isolated reported elements.
I am sorry to hear that China - we will have to have words with the Big Ed on this one, he was front-line over the weekend.
Tallulah! report all duplicates as "Spam," please.
We know when users are Trolls when they log in from different places because of complicated technical screening and the less technical art of Etymology. Also, I think we know you guys by now!

An interesting question Ummm.
It depends is you are posting as yourself still - unless you claim this second account to be an alter-ego? I think having multiple user accounts could be acceptable for those times when you need to ask a very embarrassing question. Keeping quiet about it might be your best option.
