New turbo on my 53 reg Golf.
My Golf has been starting running badly. It went into VW this week and they put it on the diagnostic machine and two faults were found which were allegely causing this problem. They were both sensors and i agreed to let them do the work to rectify this problem. I cant remember the type of sensors they replaced but the part numbers are 059919501A and 1K0906627A. total cost £208. Anyway, same problem the following day. back to VW and all of a sudden it has come to light it needs a new turbo, which would happen to cost £1300 if i let them carry out the work. Is it worth throwing more money at a car that is 6 years old and has done 107,000 miles? i am annoyed that VW didnt pick this up the first thime they had the car this week.
Any useful comments/advice appreciated. thanks! :-)

Argue this point and try to get this first labour charge offset against something else you have done with them. If not, use a VW/Audi specialist instead of the main dealer.
Good Luck!

/> There are even several second-hand ones on ebay .. I'd check those out if you want to fix on a budget.
And make sure you fit a new oil feed pipe you buy from a dealer!
