Paris, 25th Nov, Bastille Demonstration. What was it for?

I was in Paris for the day on Thurs 25th November (last week). There was a demonstration march in and around the Bastille and wanted to know what it was in aid of. A group of men jumped in front of me, pointed aggressively and in a their own special way told me to 'go away'. I must have had a certain look about me as they were pretty sure it was me they didn't want around, and not the lady I was with! Cheers.

I just had a look at the French Google : it was the rail workers, demonstrating to save the public sector and their right to go on strike. There is a wave of privatisation in the public sector in france, and that would mean less benefits,  less job security for them, and, so they are saying, a drop in the quality of service for customers. Voila !

aah - the french rail workers... yeah, they're usually on strike. almost always whenever i'm in paris. i think they see me coming and get out the placards...

The french are great the strike for nothing, I don't say this one is for nothing but let me finish, The course of the European Union is held back by a bunch of french farmers, are they disepointed with something, somebody litterary gets a load of S*** on their front lawn
