MM Links Solutions September 2009 [Week 4]

The final round in the reign of Lady Jill (aka tearinghair) went as smoothly as all previous weeks ~ completely without mishap. I now have pleasure in announcing her chosen links under the clever (two-edged) theme of:

This week it was yet another game of two halves with many of the high scores going to early birds. I expected that PAGE TURNER would present problems, but Entrant #2 in the form of ulysses100 picked it off straight away (along with PICTURE POSTCARD) for FOUR POINTS and was closely followed Christiana with the same two hits! Between them came Dustybun (bedsocks and all) with the same PAGE TURNER (together with STORY LINE) to score an unprecedented (for her) FOUR POINTS. Let me repeat “Dustybun has scored Four Points”! (Don’t faint)

With three hits discovered by the time Entrant #6 had logged in their predictions (that is 09.02) the game had opened up to allow Strix, centrino & fordward to pick up Two Points each for a single early hit. Amidst the occasional single pointers, came teacher1 with his BOOK SHELF to pick up the last of the Links. Well Done! Shortly after came gen2 with a commendable Double Hit (sadly for only Two Points).

The Final League Table for September:

TEN POINTS: centrino & Christiana
SEVEN POINTS: cliffyg & Dustybun
SIX POINTS: fordward, Grenmus, lysander & wickedtongue
FOUR POINTS: Aquagility, SHAZZA, gen2, seekeerz, Strix, ulysses100 & x-ray

As far as I can remember, the Table (above) contains no fewer than TEN ex-Chanpions of MM links. In spite of the excellent performance over the entire month by Christiana, my eye is drawn to centrino who is a mystery to us all! Centrino began predicting Links in March 2008 with ZERO scores most of the time. Slowly s/he began to pick up points, until lately when s/he has ended up just behind the eventual winner on more than one occasion. Her/His time has come!

I therefore have the honour in nominating centrino as the September MM Links Champion and setter of the Links throughout the month of October.

With grateful thanks to Lady Jill for a truly memorable month; as she exits I welcome her successor. If someone can facilitate contact between myself and centrino, it would be greatly appreciated. There will be much to do before the next MM Challenge.

Congratulations to all and particularly to Centrino - all the best for the October linking.
Thanks to gen2 for putting me in contact with Crofter at the end of last month, and to Crofter himself for a huge amount of support. I've really enjoyed setting the links for September, and am now very happy to slink back into the back row and start misbehaving again.

well by golly gosh! I nearly did faint crofter (although I should mention my second hit was actually with Picture Postcard rather than Page Turner! Should have got that as well as I actually know someone called Page Turner!!). Well done Centrino and welcome back to the back row Lady Jill!! Thanks crofter ~ you've given me so much encouragement I just must do better next month! :0)

Well what a shock, to wake up this morning to find that i have the honour to be the setter of the October links game.As Crofter has stated i was a slow starter but persistence pays off. I do remember that about 12 months ago i scored 10 points for matching all 4 but cannot remember whether it was MM or the KM game .
Now comes the problem i am going on holiday at lunchtime today and will not be available for 15 days and will not have access to any computer (my choice i might add) and i therefore ask Crofter to ask the other joint winner to do the honours for this month.With a little luck i may get another chance at a later date.
