Devadolly, look back to Matydalovers greeting, before he became as Drb put it, piste-off! Have been unable to get the Telegraph since tuesday. Herself, who has been in a less affected North London has bought todays, and will get tomorrows too, and is going to post all Crosswords to me on monday. So I'll not be starting the new "Standardised Format" thread tomorrow, but will book-mark it and hopefully join you on wednesday! That is of course if the post gets through, my last sighting of a postman here was yesterday, the first since last year. Surprisingly enough he wasn't wearing shorts, but it was easy to track him via the red elastic bands in the white background. Needless to say the signifiant piece of mail delivered was a credit card bill! As for outlawing N&Cing, no way!!!!
Jogler, you have certainly not trespassed, the more the merrier, a shame you only lurked in the past and didn't join in and contribute to the banter and as Ringer said, frequently the hints are in the N&C! Which just makes life more interesting!

Hi DocHH, must have been clattering the keys in unison there! Good words about the N & Cing! Are we going for EV*** for the N & C link then?? It rather sounds as tho' your neck of the woods is in for another burst of white stuff. We are currently under an ice sheet but as long as the snow stays away it is sort of business as usual - including a postie who wears shorts, the twit!
Hello DevaDolly,
Perhaps Government intervention has meant that your beloved Postie has not been properly equipped with winter uniform, the same way as apparently they have told local Councils to cut down gritting by 25%, i.e. matched by a 25% trouser length reduction for Posties! It has also just struck me, many Posties may now be from Eastern Europe and the current climate is warm for them!

I've managed to have the milkman, postie and paperboy all deliver locally without problems. A major computer company delivered my pc safely , as did a national department store with large box. All on time. However a large supermarket with an excellent reputation cancelled my delivery at the last minute not once but twice. I'm not impressed, especially as they didn't have the courtesy to suggest a token voucher as compensation. Have now done shop by myself and am seriously thinking of changing allegiance.
Well done Devadolly - it's great when the light dawns!
More snow forecast for tomorrow so roads here could be dicey again.

Hello all (Oooooohh! All this N & C'ing........................................
......!)
No probs here (for once) Postie a local lad (still a twit) who flies in the face of the Royal Mail edict that shorts should only be worn between specific dates. However, he is allowed to be wayward as he is a local excentric, and long may they reign say I.
