according to chambers dictionary it can be spelt thingumabob or thingamybob.

I think it's thingamybob (unspecified thing)....rare = thin + high = gamy / having the flavour of game, esp. when tainted) + bounce = bob

I Iike your explanation, JMR27. Never thought of rare = thin I was too tied up to object = thing and tryin to fit AMY, UMY, etc. Thanks al lot.
