installing heavy marble fireplace
3 Answers
whats the best way of securing a very heavy 2 piece all marble fireplace to a brick and plaster wall?
a builder neighbour says to use "no Nails" but id be a lot happier if there was also some sort of bracket attached to the marble that could be screwed to the wall for extra safety but i cant figure a way to attach a metal bracket to the marble, not keen on drilling into a grands worth of marble !

When I did one, I had holes in the marble that I was able to use to attach a flat steel bracket. Then screwed the bracket into the wall, chasing out a little of the wall material to provide room for the bracket to sit flat.
Slow drilling of marble, with plastocene/putty 'ring' around the drilling site, filled with water for lubrication should be OK?
