14/20/10: Wed years, minds don't meet - fun involved with this cliched 16?.... (2,4,6,10,2)
16: ...Went home only occasionally - "No fun at this flipping address!" (5,2,3,5)
For 16 I have 'abode of the devil' ?
Am I right, I cannot figure out the first part.

I set myself little targets for finishing the crosswords and allocate 90 minutes to Azed & Mephisto., 3hours for the Spectator and all the way up to 6 hours for Listener.
The 45 minutes for this Independent was not enough while today's Azed was done in just over 30 minutes!
You never can tell.

Mr K,
I more often than not manage to complete an Azed, so I'm more than glad you help me out when I'm baffled by a couple of clues. I usually do the Azed over the course of a week, and try my hand at Inquisitor - still yet to complete one.
I've not tried Mephisto. The Spectator, I purchased a copy a couple weeks back set by Dumpynose No 1953. I managed 70% and then got totally stuck!
The EV 904 by Samson I completed in just over 5 hours (in one sitting)! I'm new to thematic barred grids, so the EV I like a lot.
As for the Listener, I bought the book and managed 'pen names' by Smokey having to double check the answers before entry, but as for the weekly newspaper I haven't a chance(yet) they seem devilishly difficult, and as I am the only person who does crosswords of this sort I'll leave the Listener alone until I get acclimated with these types of puzzle.
I can't believe your solving times, absolutely fantastic Sir!!!
