I would be grateful if someone can explain the following answer to me please -
21a Evergreen tree with crack in it, blown over. The answer given today was Myrtle but we can't work out why.

Elm with Try in

To try is to have a crack at something
TRY (crack) in ELM (tree blown over<)
the evergreen tree is elm, but I don't understand the rest of it!
blown over refers to the letters running backwards
to have a crack at something, means to Try.
