Good day all, this puzzle looks rather cool today, nice grid too. I hope everyone enjoys it. Salamanca is new to me so I hope I can tackle his/her game.
This puzzle was set with you in mind, Dd, so I hope you enjoy it! This is another nice puzzle for starting to get to grips with the likes of EV, and is even possible without too much recourse to the Big Red Book. It was a happy accompaniment to our trip down the M1 and took my mind off the vagaries of the bank holiday motorist (not an easy thing to do). The streets of London are awash with flower petals and it all looks very pretty despite the usual BH weather.
Good afternoon all, just popped in to put the CCC sign back on the DC! Quite non-plussed by being able to rattle two EV's off without recourse to knashing of teeth and 45acrossing! Yes Jogler it suited rather well.
Back to the Mr O puzzle, thought so, can't get a grip of it despite now having the answers and it is particularly galling as I am quite a fan of DL! Oh woe..............
I'll avoid the euphemisms and just say this was too easy for the EV. And was there really any point to adding the "unused couples" to the grid, or did I miss something? Grumble, grumble.
Oh well, this frees up the rest of the day for mucking about in the yard, or watching basketball. Decisions, decisions.
The basketball seems the better option. I suppose the unused "couples" filled the remaining cell.
Devadolly certainly cannot be DD this week, otherwise, given the nature of the puzzle, she becomes an invisible cipher --- and that will never do! Also, it's not CCC this week, it's just C.
Hadn't thought of that novalis! Could be very useful though if I was invisible at times - Himself (and all the other kind souls who just drop in as they are passing) couldn't track me down, they would have to look after themselves.
Rather too easy, probably my fastest rattle through an EV. Still puzzling over the 10 letter listener word then I can rest easy for the week, dr b where should I be looking?
OK invisible one, is GM now on a sloping roof? If so he obviously has a propensity to climb, or was the pic taken at an angle? Impressed you have become nerdy enough to change the pic! I must admit I liked the one when he was looking out of the bush inspecting the work Himself was doing.
AndrewG-S, shouldn't that have been RALE through!
Chrio
Like everyone else finished in double quick time. Started earlier than usual (for me) this week and then raced through it, so now at a lost until the Thursday Spectator. Never hay, t diicult or t much of a brze (or do I mean dole)? Oh dear I may be speaking in goledygok all wk!
This certainly has a left a gap ( or some ) in our lives until Thursday's Speie.
Roslyn251254, a big welcome to the "e(cc)entrics' corner". EV does get rather more cha(ll)enging but you'll find plenty of su(pp)ort and hints here if you get stuck.
Welcome Roslyn.
Doc - Ginger Mog is just peering down from the kitchen roof (flat roofed edition to a 15th century bothy) and has been caught at an angle, didn't think the last pic showed up enough when so reduced in size.
Can somebody please tell me if one is still able to download the Speccie Xword, I can't seem to find it these days. Thanks
Hi Devadolly. It's still there each week, listed under its full title, usually thanks to Kayakamina and Mintyman. Last weeks link is: http://www.theanswerb...s/Question889390.html Don't know how to do that so you can just click on it, so you would have to cut and paste
