I have this wonderful picture in my mind of a line of ABers all up the country, all staring skywards at 9.46 tonight. If we all carried a sparkler, the people in the space station could probably identify us from up there!
I was in the lake district last night and saw the most amazing shooting star / meteorite. It didnt just flash across the sky but was really bright and ended with a flash / explosion (no noise tho).
I am no expert to tell people where to look but look at the chart. Once you see it it will always come in the same direction as it crosses the atlantic then ireland then uk . Just look at one of the large planets and it's like that but moving and remember it does NOT BLINK..Hope this helps.
wedilla the view last night at 10.56 was absolutely awesome, very very bright and so fast! but still a full 3 mins or so, I was on the phone my OH and we watched it together and he was 60 miles away but had just the same view!!! It was very remantic, we wished on it lol (feel proper daft now tho)
After missing it last night because of cloud have just been watching it go over. We waved but dont think they saw us!!! Maybe the idea of sparklers is a good one ;-)
Thanks for the complete listings Wendilla,
We have just missed the earlier sighting but hope to see the the 11.22pm one.
Luckliy down here (in East Sussex) the skies are very clear,so hopefully we should see it easily?
