MM and KM Links May 2010 [Week 2]

I must begin by congratulating kettledrum on his latest win with the Spectator Crossword 1960 entitled “How’s that” based on Native North Americans! I never cease to be amazed by the intelligence demonstrated by our select group of AB Linkers, all of whom are prepared to act the idiot to the entertainment of all. On the positive side, we are quick to respond to requests for assistance from anyone in our group and are prepared to meet outside an AB context.

I feel that our latest royal setter, Sir Robin of Links-ley (aka Aquagility) fits the above description perfectly and I wonder what surprises he has in store for us tomorrow. His sheer exuberance for Life belies his years and his skills for dismantling cryptic clues leave me astounded.

Once again, I am looking forward to see how contestants respond to Sir Robin when he introduces his second launch tomorrow morning ~ starting his posting at 8.45am and declaring his second set four words to be linked at 9.00am, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. It cannot be just coincidence that last week brought a bumper crop of entries, each looking for the scalp of Sir Robin. However, do remember (with MM Links) ~ early hits gain bonus points!

Of course, you should also look out for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at a very early hour (which is difficult to predict precisely). Consequently, the timing of your posting is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register. The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz and goes by the name of “seekeerz”. I once said that seekeerz was very big down under ~ and got into all sorts of trouble; but as I always say ~ “Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?” They remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards.

As always, new comers will be welcomed with open arms. We have an international base spanning three continents.

Jan, you are being very positive, but can't help but think "I AM COLD" !!! I have put the central heating on and don't feel very summery at all !!!!
I haven't been around much on a Friday night, seem to have been out, and as Car Boot sales have started again I am not here early in the morning either (unless rain stops play )

Just spoken to Pauline and we are trying to work out where the email re my Avatar has gone. She has also been telling me how to get rid of cookies etc but have gotto try and remember all passwords first.
There is something strange going on at Pauline's house, the dog let out a terrible noise which caused Pauline to shout and shut the door on Reg and dog ????? What's occuring ??

Twix, it's raining here and really cold. Got my central heating on, and am just going to fill my hot water bottle !!! Feels like December again !!!
