a) learn how to use cron files

b) replace "Mephisto Latest crossword and solution: live after 2100 Saturday" with " Mephisto Latest crossword and solution: live at a random time on Saturday evening, perhaps when the web team gets back from the pub"?

Why do we bother subscribing?

Having reluctantly subscribed £2 a week to the "new" Times and Sunday Times online, I have managed to screen-print Mephisto from the Sunday Times e-paper. In the past it's, aggravatingly, been as late as Wednesday before Mephisto appeared online in the crossword club.

If you are a member of the Crossword Club, you get access to the on-line paper. Didn't realise that this would include Mephisto but have now managed to print out today's missing one. Log into the newspaper site, select "Paper" from the main horizontal menu, then type Mephisto into the search box. Copy and paste into Word. Thanks for the pointer.

As a CC member, my month-or-so free access to the online papers ran out some time ago! Searching instead of print-screen under "Papers" is certainly simpler. It's not available on Saturday night, though. Thank you for the tip, Hypotheses.

agsurfer - just checked back my Inbox - on 1st July, I got a message giving me complimentary membership till 31st January - 7 months - but not including Times+. Doubt if I'll fork out the two quid a week come February though...

Tuesday night and it's still not there! E-mailed them yesterday - no reply. Tried the ideas suggested but it's not working out. Don't think I'll be renewing the Crossword Club subscription!

Wednesday avo here in NZ and still no Mephisto! I need to fax my entry by Friday avo latest... I e-mailed Tim Moorey the setter in the hopes that he'd give them a nudge.

STILL not there - I gave up waiting and managed to print from the Sunday Times newspaper site - lucky we Times XWd Clubbers have free access till end Jan 2011.
