24ac LUPULIN fits the definition but is one letter short. LUPULINE is given either as an adjective to the above or as a noun described as an alkaloid extracted from hops as a colourless volatile liquid. So bibblebub's earlier link for the latter doesn't fit the definition. Just a booboo by SLEUTH?
Here is that thread http://www.theanswerb...s/Question924862.html and yellow11 says that lupuline is an adjective to which i gave a link which says that it is also a noun. It's up to that person or you or anyone else to decide if that makes it the right answer.
Like I said, there's no question of blame, just a comment which I believe is accurate. Meanwhile, I'm still searching for an answer that ticks all the boxes. Wher are the AB giants, like L-I-K, Jim Jools, sarumite and all the others?
Well my information says LUPULINE can be a noun, but not one which satisfies the definition in the clue, or an adjective which also doesn't satisfy the clue, unless there's an "of" or a "relating to" which has been missed out.
Because if it's a noun, it's an alkaloid extracted from the hop flower as a colourless volatile liquid, not a resinous powder. And if it's an adjective, it's not a resinous powder, but rather relating to or of said powdwer.
Looks like you're going to have to work it out for yourself instead getting other people to finish your crossword for you; cadging answers is just about your only contribution to this site. You didn't have any problems accepting my answers in the past, but you sure ain't getting any in future.
And my avatar is directed at you - but it is just a comment (which I believe is accurate).
