Odd message on e-mailing an attachment...
7 Answers
Hi everyone - I've been sending a revised puzzle grid to people that have e-mailed to ask & I've just seen this odd message after sending the last one -
"Word could not create the work file. Check the temp environment variable."
Can anyone tell me what it means & how to to fix whatever's wrong?
The grid on my desktop has in "Properties" - "Microsoft Office Word Document (.docx)"
Thanks for your time & attention, Lie-in King

I'd suggest trying a repair of your office installation and a quick google on the error seems to point to a problem with some registry keys related to word (and a repair install is a lot safer than editing the registry)
You've not said which version of windows, so....
if it's XP then goto control panel > add remove programs, scroll down and click on microsoft office in the list to highlight it and then click on change and you should get an option to repair the office install (you will need the CD)
If it's a later version of windows then the same options are now under control panel > programs and features.

Good evening Chuck - a quickie (oo-er!) as I'm off out...
I finally found the "Diagnostics" bit for "Office Home & Student 2007" & it said that it "fixed what it could" - or words to that effect!
However, that stupid messgae still appears, even though the attachment works...
I'll be trying a re-install on the morrow.
Thanks for your help
