clue ? any letters
Hi Creakey - it's always nice to post the full clue, number of letters & any you've placed, so that people without the puzzle can also help you - thanks for next time! :-)

That said -

25a Mexican and south-west US spiny shrub with clusters of red flowers (8) - Ocotillo
Question Author
Thanks both but have now found it Answer is Octilla.
Creakey
With respect, it's 'Ocotillo'
Lie-in King. If 25A is OcotillO, what is 21D? I have "Of lAte"
21d is OF YORE. With the greatest respect, I have never known Lie-In-King to be wrong - he is absolutely brilliant!
Thanks OAP60. With equal respect please see http://www.onelook.com/?w=Octilla&ls=a, the entry under Wordnik does call it the Ocotilla Cactus. So maybe the Telgraph compiler "got it wrong". Or at least left scope for confusion!
Sorry that should have been http://www.onelook.com/?w=Ocotilla&ls=a
Nobody's perfect even at the Telegraph! Glad "OF YORE" was of help to you . . .
