Enjoyed this (only really looked at it because the Listener took unusually little up of my weekend) ... would have been better if a more complete complement of names had been included (even if author of quotation had been omitted, but we could have had the other one) .... But neatly done, even if letter-reductions a slightly cruel concept ... yet oh so topical with all this snow about ! Hope my tips or toes don't fall off ...

Wonderful picture, Slaney. Yes, the anniversary Andrew mentioned was something our thematic element would have wanted but the particular event that was this week's Cold Comfort veers, I think, more towards March of the following year. We are currently weather watching... is it going to scupper everyone's Christmas week plans or will it pass off with a whimper - selfishly we are hoping for the latter.
