there is only one bone from shoulder to elbow and it is the humerus

Yep, humerus - there isn't one with 5 letters. The tibia is the forearm from elbow to wrist - perhaps the crossword setter has made a mistake?

something's not right here, prudie, either it's an error in the clue, or in the number of letters, or a mistake in the crossword itself!

Just realised I actually have the You mag and checked boxy. Clue says bones and is 6 letters so humeri it is!
