Thanks for the link M. I am ucky enough to be runner-up (again!) in puzzle 1994. good luck everyone!
Thanks mintyman.
And well done Roslyn and all - looks like a clean sweep for AnswerBank to me!
Thanks for the pdf link mintyman.

Congratulations to Ros on her well deserved runner up as she is always ready to help others.
Well done if it is a sweep for Aber's - always nice to see.

I think Dumpynose has omitted one of the most well known names born on 8th January - in my eyes anyway.
many thanks MM99 as always
and well done guys .. nice little xmas bonus.
Well ..... I'll keep it in the "family" ! I was the second runner-up in the 1994 crossword. lol. ;o)
p.s. Does anyone know if Jan 8th is the correct closing date for 1996 ? I'll never finish it that fast. ;o(
Many thanks, Mintyman and congrats to Roslyn and Teacher.
Well done teacher.

Apologies to Dumpynose - she was there all along!
Glad you're sorted K - i thought you meant "your good self" for the missing birthday! lol !!
Many thanks for the link. Hope to tackle this later.
Apologies Roslyn and Teacher for not congratulating you both in my previous post. Well merited success for two most helpful ABers.
thanks mintyman - although i have completed and found the 3 names [ which was fun] and have 17/8 which are thematically very satisfying, it then becomes a bit strange. - i would have thought 22/34/36d and 38/1d/40 would be thematic like 17/8 but [unless slade - 'feel the noiz' - are responsible ] they seem to be disconnected words. - and not unique either as 36 offers two endings which gives ambiguous possibilities for 40 and 34. - is another language being used perhaps? any advice would be welcome.
i have awe for 40d, 34d ending in y
thanks roslyn [+ congrats to you] i think that you mean 36d ending in y as that would be one of my permutations - but if 36d ended in s and 40 was aye that gives another possibility for 34 across i think - maybe i should go through all the letters again methodically - thanks b
oh so sorry - penny just dropped. more supreme wrong-footing from dumpynose - considering 17/8 is actually a ...........
pretty sure 36 ends in Y Bellabee
so true
I emailed Doc re the closing date for entries. He said 'I would confidently say that Jan 24th is the closing date'. So that's a relief - especially for us expats.
