Can anyone explain the wordplay for 30across Mid point of suture sewn up as in half cut. The answer is nasion but knowing how particular Azed is with his wording I can't quite get the clue to work.
I don't know. Nasion is defined as the mid point of a suture. Sewn up suggests an anagram, as above. One of the definitions of ON in Chambers is preparatory to getting drunk, for which a synonym is half-cut, so it all seems to fit for me.
Ok then I am satisfied now. I hadn't come across the definition of sew up as nonplus or make drunk. Thank you for your attention.I'm obliged as they used to say in Westerns
