Hi all. A friend has a 1996 Honda CRX ESi and the ABS light has come on and won't go off. Has anyone any idea why this has happened and what can be done to rectify it.
Either one or more sensors needs cleaning, or one or more sensors need to be replaced.
I recommend checking and cleaning the sensors first.
Prepare yourself for a shock - ABS sensors (new) for Hondas cost over £150 each ( at least they do for my 1996 Accord).
You can get second hand ones for about £30 or so, but they are pretty scarce and very difficult to...

One other thought - the ABS warning light should come on when you start up. It goes through a diagnostic system check and then goes out after a few seconds. This means the ABS system is OK. If the light then comes on when you start moving at more than a few mph, then it is a sensor problem.
