TV Game show host, 70's (I'm sure) but maybe 80's

Trying to remember his name. I know he did a couple of quiz/game shows, I think on ITV.. Can't remember anything about him other than he was a smarmy sod who wore big glasses. I thought his name might be Jones but not sure, and I've found nothing. Any ideas?

Yup, Steve jones was the one. I thought it was but couldn't find ANYTHING to confirm it. Ta for that (and the others)

OK then he always struck me as cocky though. I couldn't recall the show he did otherwise I might have found him

I used to love Steve Jones and the Pyramid Game. Donny Osmond did a similar (or maybe the same) quiz show on Sky 3 two or three years ago.
