Which are your favourite Pop/Rock intros? A couple that I like are the guitar intro to Hotel California and the saxaphone intro to Baker Street.

Did you know, that the Sax solo played by Raphael Ravenscroft, a session musician was never paid for that piece? - He was given a cheque for £27, but it bounced - he had it framed and put it up on the wall.

Now to answer your question my favourites : Black Night, Deep Purple, Walking on hot coals, Rory Gallagher, Panoid Black Sabbath, Voodoo Chile, Jimi Hendrix, Little Red Rooster, Rolling Stones
There are hundreds more - I could go on all day!
This version of Voodoo Chile - the bluesy one

Mine is always 'I Saw Her Standing There'.

When Paul shouts "One two three FOUR!" you just know he is that signalling two and bit mnutes of the most exciting rock and roll you will ever hear is about to come your way ... and then it does!
^^ And the rest of the Beatles first album continues in the same way - superb!

Merciasounds - you've shattered the image I have always had of Bob Holness giving it his all in the studio on that track!

Do you mean to say it wasn't Bob a-blowin' there?
Gee dotty, you have reminded me, I saw the Herd live, all those years back!
And this has got to be a candidate for the best intro in the classical world...
