Hi, just can't get my head round 1down, I need two letters and I'll be done!
Horn succeeded in competition for trophy (4)
I have C - S - I can think CASE or CAST for horn, or CASH for trophy(?) but can't get the methodology.
Help very much appreciated, thank you.

cusp ?
cup for trophy, not too sure about he 's', though, unless it is succeeded and cusp=horn.
I go succeeded and cup for CUSP = horn
