yep - had never heard of stolon before and I ahd to look that one up - and I read 1st year botany at uni as a precursor to Geology (fossil age) Largely bored the socks off me but the practicals, genetics, bacteriology and mycology were interesting. You could always spot a botanist by their lab coats covered in dyes, some accidents and others from being targeted if you sat at the front of the lab. Back row for me.
