Am I going mad? How can Aneurin, with a fifth letter "r", fit with the second "e" of Desert, the answer to fourteen across? I have checked my printed paper with the Polymath 606 picture on the website!

Thanks for your interest naartje. There's not a lot more to say. The Health Minister was Aneurin Bevan & the song was Desert Rose. Where they cross, see the website, one answer has an "r" & the other has an "e". I think that either the setter has spelled "Aneurin" some other way, or somehow the song is wrong. I'm baffled.
Could you give us the clues, please, upstart? - we don't all see the paper but we'd like to try to help.
