is it possible you can explain how you got the answers. not very good at these cryptic clues trying to learn the strategies implemented. many thanks

1 very heated = BAKED, readhead = R [first letter] => BrAKED

2 because a hub is at the centre??? maybe there's a better answer than Hubble

3 a small change (=little difference) to the word 'damien' is to change just one letter and so make it 'dampen', which is synonymous with being a wet blanket

Hubble - Hub (centre) + (nota)ble (part of the word)
Dampen - change the 'i' to a 'p' (little difference)
