Alcohol free cider

Can anyone recommend a nice alcohol free cider that actually tastes like cider? We tried the Kopparberg alcohol free pear one yesterday and it was disgusting. It smelled and tasted exactly like those peardrop sweets I didn`t like as a child and it went straight down the sink. Apple cider is what I`m looking for. Sainsbury`s looks ok but it`s 1% so not really alcohol free.

I thought of Cydrax but googling it I see it hasn't been produced in the UK for 20 years. 1% alcohol isn't a lot.

I know it`s not a lot sandy but I want to have a nice fizzy long soft drink for the summer and there seems to be a huge gap in the market for fizzy long drinks that aren`t sweet.

What about Schloer apple juice mixed with something to give it a sparkle?

try the 1% stuff with lots of ice + soda water

I like the taste of cider. I have tried various apple juices but the taste isn`t the same. I remember guzzling Appletise years ago but it`s too sweet.

Thanks. I might try that. I think there`s some Angostura in the cupboard. It`s useful for making Dark n Stormies!

Thanks ann - I absolutely love ginger beer but I fancied something different. I`ve got the low cal version at the moment but I think that might be going down the sink as well as it`s not very nice.
No chris - apple juice and cider are two different things. I`m not sure about Australia but in America they use the term apple cider but it`s not the same as cider.

try making your own; buy a regular cider, as alcohol evaporates above 80c simply heat up to above this temp, hold for 10-15 minutes then cool down and chill. Hey presto! alcohol free cider.

Alcohol free cider, Noooooooo, comming from zummerset, this is so wrong, you cant beat a good scrumpy.
