Still stuck on one clue. Any help appreciated.

28a (4, 2 and 4). Did Ireland Inc losten to this too closely? (Yeah, that word is 'losten' not listen).
?I?E and ?D and ?I?E

The first and last words could be whole load of things Live, Jive, Eire, Side, Ride, Bide etc

The second word could be CD (compact disc?) or I'd (abbreviation of I would etc). Im reasonably satisfied the D is correct, as it p[art of an anagram.

Or it's not in English... Or the D's wrong... Anag of Ireland Inc with answer in Gaelic?

Another post here last weekend suggested (and it seems good to me) that that the 2+4 should be six letters and the word at end is AD+VICE.

Answer might (might) be Dire Advice etc..... Ireland certainly got/gave loads of it

More than once, this crossword has given incorrect number of letters. Add a (potential) misprint....and what a waste of time......
Question Author
Maybe this clue has nothing to do with Ireland - Ireland Inc might be two initial letters = I and I.

Add 'Losten' and 'To' plus I and I.......does that ten letters offer any anagram... Not that I can see and does not take in D
Inc cannot represent the letter I.

If this crossword is so infamous for typos, I'd give up on it.
The answer I have suggested before is Nice Advice (so 4,6 rather than 4,2,4). The Nice relates to Nice treaty
Has the answer to this been published yet, does anyone know?
