Following on from Quinie, there is a place in Aderdeenshire called Newseat.
Could be Newseat or Newhouse. It could be so many things.

Totally unconnected with this; during a search for New..... I have discovered that there is a place in Shropshire called New Invention. Really!
Hi,Ouzel,Newseat sounds fine. I couldn't find it on the site I use. Yes,scotman, there really are some weird place names.

I can only think the quiz setter got it wrong ,the only thing I can think is Newcastle but that`s in England.
