Don't let it get to you too much Turast. I bought the Observer once (the wife wanted a CD or something that they were giving away) and entered their prize crossword and won. The first time I did the Sunday Times I won a Cross ballpoint. Sheer dumb luck.

I've sent in the Saturday Times, the Times Jumbo cryptic, Mephisto, the Observer Everyman and the Sunday Times (occasionally managing to finish only with the help of kayakamina et al.) for many years and have never won anything with any one of them. I've come to the conclusion that the Universe hates me. And I'm sorry to say that I now hate turast.

I submit them all by snail-mail on newsprint copies (except The Spectator which I fill in on a PDF printout courtesy of the AB's Mintyman).

Well done Turast! All I've won over some 60 years is the Telegraph runners-up prize! And a couple of wins on The Generalist (probably out of half-a-dozen entries).
I sometimes wonder if snail-mail entries get priority!
