Thanks for that info,JMR27.Like daneswalk I'd never heard bealing or beiling meaning irate-usually for an abscess, ulcer etc. Useful site.
Is the clue really " bealinbirse up radgie "?
I haven't seen it written before and would have spelled it beelin'
I have, however, heard of it both as 'infected' and 'furious'
I thought it was a Scots version of 'boiling' as in boiling mad.
clue was-Bealing, birse up,radgie
actually, in my dictionary radge and radgie have different meanings!! I think Keith may have boobed!
Dictionary of the Scots Language gives them as both the same.

Hi ladyalex, Keith hasn't boobed after all. My dictionary gave radge and radgie as two separate entries, but I see it can be spelt either way. Don't think I'd use that word though!!Long time since I've heard "birse up"
