I was sorry to hear of the death of "Ginger" McCain trainer of three time grand national winner Red Rum.My condolences to his family.Im sure all you kind AB folk join me

Sad new, in the days I used to follow the gee-gees him and Rummy put a fair bit of cash in my pocket

my favourite was the beautiful grey Desert Orchid, actually won some dosh once on that horse.

I met Ginger a few times in the mid-1970s, my then boss had a horse at Gingers stables in Birkdale, we went to Hexham races one day and we were in the enclosure with Ginger and John Jo and a few other of the jockeys, I used to feed polo mints to the horses at the stable too, great times.
