Do you mean the Gregorian calendar?

i assume the Julian calendar was adopted when the Romans invaded.

Yes if they are the same thing
Gregorian calendar in 1752. But they're not the same.
the Julian one (introduced by Julius Caesar) was the old one; the Gergorian calendar (Pope Gregory) was introduced in 1752 in England - a long time after other countries adopted it.
It started in 45 bc if thats any help
