Two jailed for trying to blow-up mosque.

These two pieces of lowlife have been given 10 years for trying to blow-up a mosque causing over £50,000 worth of damage.

One an Ex-Soldier was also reported to be once a BNP and EDL member, maintained that it was committed in retaliation for the Muslim poppy burning.

I do not in anyway condone what these two have done, but what I do question is the length of their jail sentence, this of course is not in the least excessive taking into consideration what they had done, but compared with the the light sentences metered out to others and some of those rioters it all seems rather unbalanced.

Why is it that the 'community' are always praised in such a way, when other more balanced members of the public than these two, take no action against poppy burners, troop insulters etc.?

Yes - when military courts hand out 18 months to soldiers that stab a child seeing a civillian court hand out 10 years for trying to ow up a mosque must come as a bit of a shock.

I wonder what a Court Marshal would have given them - 6 points on their driving licenses perhaps?

What was the sentence for burining down the furniture shop, ano? If it was much less, then I agree that there shoud be more consistency in sentencing. Are you making teh point that because muslims were involved then the jail term was too big?

So why should someone who tried to blow up a mosque get 10?

I seem to remember the public was praised in thwarting the Glasgow Airport bombers. One even became a bit of a celebrity.

The poppy burners are idiots and provokers. They want publicity and notoriety. The best thing we can do is make sure they don't get it. We should not give them the satisfaction of letting them upset us. We should post about them because they are irrelevant. That is not to excuse what they do, but to make sure their inciteful deeds to not suceed.
