Mad Friday isn't this Friday

Why do they keep saying on the news that it's mad Friday today? No it's not, it's next Friday when everyone goes to the pub after work and gets drunk. It's always Christmas eve or nearest day to it when everyone finishes work.

Because Christmas and New Year are on the weekend, places that work Monday-Friday are having their holiday entitlement by finishing today and having next week off.
