Two reindeer, Rudolph and Dasher, set off from the North Pole at the same time to cover the same journey.

Rudolph travels at 50pmh and Dasher at 40mph.

If Rudolph stops after 140 miles how many minutes will it take Dasher to catch up?

Any suggestions please?!

Rudolph will travel 140 miles in 140/50 = 2.8 hours
In 2.8 hours Dasher will have travelled 2.8*40 = 112 miles i.e. 28 miles behind.
To travel that extra 28 miles it will take Dasher 28/40 = 0.7 hours = 42 minutes
