Waitrose have really let me down. Now I have to go out in a howling gale to try and find a supermarket with a spare car parking space TONIGHT. I was so organised but I was relying on them. Never again. Breathe.
So my question is, what time do you think will be the quietest time to go this evening? Sainsburys is open until 11.59 tonight. Thanks.

It would be quite unhelpful to say you should have just gone in the first place wouldn't it. How they run out of all that sort of of stuff though is a bit pathetic. I'd go sooner rather than later. If you leave it until late then their shelves will probably all have been cleared from the day waiting to be restocked.
how are you organised if you left these 'essentials' till 2 days before Christmas? Apart from the creme fraiche these products could have been purchased yonks ago.
a tip for the future......Christmas is on 25th December every year......yes, that's right....same date each year!
however did we manage when shops closed all day sundays and had a half day in the week without fridges and freezers....I hope the note of sarcasm wasn't missed there. Our local council has hired some lorries for Boxing Day to go around collecting all the dead bodies 'cos the shops will have been closed the previous day.
Certainly supermarkets are quieter later in the evenings but that is probably because peeps have gone shopping earlier in the day and emptied some of the shelves.

Three years ago I decided to do the xmass food shop on internet (all except fruit and veg) The first thing it asked was for me to pick a delivery slot, I scanned along the days to the first available slot and clicked.
The 22nd Dec came and I waited and waited and waited. To cut along story short I'd clicked on the 29th Dec, which had to be cancelled and I had to do all the shopping myself..

It is all well and good that people are saying that you should buy stuff earlier as we all know xmas is on 25th December but you don't know ladybirder's circumstances.
She could have had no money before now, or could be housebound and unable to go to the supermarket herself.
I wonder what it must be like to be as perfect as those who see fit to criticise.
