3. Davids Den ( number 10 Bingo )
1 Chatsworth House
Question Author
Thanks Emeritus. I thought about David`s Den. It is not Chatsworth House, as Chatsworth is the answer to another clue. And is it known as Chatsworth and not Chatsworth House. But thanks anyway.
Chatsworth House was built by John Vanburgh a Playwright at the time

What is the other clue for Chatsworth ?
Sorry meant to add it is known as Chatsworth House not just Chatsworth.
Question Author
C. Debs lives in a dower house on the estate. I believe Lady Deborah, is now a dowager duchess and lives on the estate.
Just had a thought.

John Vanburgh also built Castle Howard ?
Question Author
Emeritus - I did wonder about Castle Howard, think I looked it up, but did not realise John Vanburgh was a playwright. Could be that, as the clue is first attempt at building. will have another look later.
Question Author
Just looked up John Vanburgh and think it is Castle Howard. Many thanks.
2. Blandings Castle ..... home of Lord Emsworth whose prize pig was the Empress of Blandings
Re. number 6. Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, but is the Crucible Theatre a home? I was going to suggest Carlton Towers as Carlton is a type of pottery. Am I on the wrong track?
5 tree snail ?
Could number 4 be Tree House?
Anyway, we are all celebrating, and all further answers will probably be rubbish.
Happy Christmas everyone - from TheWinner.
crucible theatre must be right as clue says "Potters Mecca"
Question Author
I think Crucible Theatre is right, as some of the questions are not strictly "homes." There is a separate section on sports, and for instance .....
LTA - Wimbledon is its headquarters .... Lawn Tennis Association.
Thanks for tree snail, tree house and Empress of Blandings.
Question Author
Not sure about tree house .... better than standing in the rain .... as that section relates to TV plays, series, etc., like Downton Abbey.
