Watching the blackbird behaviour
4 Answers
We've been watching the behaviour of a male and female blackbird in our garden at work. They are both foraging about in a heap of leaves, however, the female blackbird comes right up to us, well about 7 feet away and starts flapping her wings at the window to the door. She also tries to peck at the glass as well. Only the female is doing this but it has been going on for at least a week and she does not seem at all bothered by us. We just can't understand why she is doing this whilst the male protectively watches on. We find it fascinating. We're having to be careful when opening the door, as she would be in the building like a shot!
