There are two Ricky Rosses I think- a US rapper and the one from Deacon Blue I recall.
I wouldn't describe either as anything like household names though so I'm surprised the DM would have this in a crossword.
Or is he more famous than I think?

The Daily Record ( DR) is a Scots newspaper so it makes sense to include someone from Deacon Blue .In fact it's quite often given as a clue in this crossword .

Thanks-yes I misread DR as DM.
I remember Deacon Blue being popular in the UK and particularly in Scotland in the late 80s but I didn't know they were still so well known in Scotland.
