How odd. I wouldn't be at all pleased with some one like that knocking at my door. When I gave up the TV license I wrote the appropriate letters to the appropriate people and I suppose as with most things in life you tend to be treated by others as you treat them?
I've never had threatening letters or obnoxious thugs at my door.

It is competitive tendering. The Government employ a company to collect the licence fee. The Government (on behalf of the taxpayer) wants to pay as little as possible for this work to be done, so they go for a collection company that supply the lowest bid. This company also want to make a certain amount of profit, so if their wage bill goes up, they need to cut jobs to maintain the level of profit they want.

Not very much to do with the BBC. Nothing to do with India. Just RebelSouls banging the same drum.

I informed my cable provider to cancel their service and also told TVLA I did not require a license. I was reimbursed £70 for the pre-payments I had paid for the next license and everyone I dealt with was pleasant and the whole matter was over with no fuss at all. That was 2 years ago.

you must be a lucky one Toby my trouble started when i had a valid licence.

they also have to reimburse you, i have noticed that they can charge you weekly or monthly but when it comes to repayments if you have less than 3 months they are unable to pay you back

the bbc has never allowed them to break down anyone's door serving a warrant if you have proof that this has happened i would love to see it .
