Radio Times The Big Film Quiz
161 Answers
Just wondering if anyone else is attempting this quiz? I think I have over 30 answers, which I am happy to share if anyone needs help. Stumped on the feather, big pink knickers, red kite, black tower, bbc microphone (thought The King's Speech but mic probably too modern), milk bottle, carrier bag, two stetsons.
Many thanks

Not sure what the canadian flags are. There is also a British flag next to the queen. Can anyone else make out some sort of red graffiti on the far end of the pier? Says "COR...." can't read the rest of it. I'm stuck on 38 but there must be something in the flags and far end of pier. Or possibly the hole next to "6'6''"
Back from work now. I think I have completely confused myself.
I think that the stone carving on the right hand side is definitely Gladiator, and believe someone answered this one earlier.
I am now stuck on the last few.
(a) the moon
(b) the funfair right at the end of the pier. Could it be "The Greatest Show on Earth" or "Helter Skelter" (there is a film of that name)? Or something else completely. Or is this bit just in to confuse us.
(c) The Rope - someone suggested that it's the fuse from Mission Impossible - but which one. There is also a film called "Rope", so it could also be that.
Or maybe the moon is there just as a bit of a red herring and nothing to do with it at all. I've got three things circled as unanswered and two spaces left on my list.
Hope you can help, TIA

"Bridget Jones Diary"
"The Kite Runner"
"2002 A Space Odessey"
"King's Speech"
"Milk"
"American Beauty"
"Brokeback Mountain" I think!!
Do you have anything for:
Sprayed on MURDER in Reverse, Fair at the end of the pier with Canadian flags, Pale Moon and Figure carved into stone plaque

Hello ... the sprayed on Murder in reverse is from "The Shining". I think the feather is from "Forrest Gump" (answered earlier in this thread). The figure carved into the plaque is, I think, Gladiator (also answered in an earlier post).
Am also stuck on the Moon one - or is this a red herring and just for decoration. Also stuck on the funfair at the end of the pier - as suggested earlier "Helter Skelter"? or "The Greatest Show on Earth".
And then there's the bit of rope .... one of the Mission Impossible movies? (the bomb fuse?), or there's a film called "Rope".
Hope this is helpful and hope someone out there can offer some more help.

Ithought the red kite was the film The Kite Runner, the man with the white bandages is The Elephany Man (John Hurt movie) I thought the baby on the banknotes could be Billion Dollar Baby and the two cowboy hats Midnight Cowboy as they look very like the ones Jon Voight & Dustin Hoffman wore. The piece of rope could be 'Rope' an Alfred Hitchcock film and could the tightrope walker be-'Tightrope' a Clint Eastwood film? The lamp post with the blue shade I thought was The Blue Lamp. Unsure about the carrier bag, the plane (Dambusters??) the black box/tower? Could the Australian type hat on the disco ball be Strictly Ballroom?? What about the moon in the top right? Moonstruck?? and the feather is a confusing one-as it has 4 stripes on it I though maybe The Four Feathers but thats a shot in the dark really
I'm pretty sure that it's Brokeback Mountain. I don't think that Dustin Hoffman wore a hat in the film and one of the hats worn in BM was pale cream. The feaher is definitely from Forrest Gump, but I am not convinced that the moon is "Moonstruck". It can't be Moonlighting, because that was a TV series. There is a film called "Moonrise", a film noir. There is a film called "moon" too, but none of the images look remotely like the one on the comjpetition page.
You've got good eyesight CTanswerbank, I can't see "COR...." anywhere ...

I haven't seen Forrest Gump either, but I double checked on google images and there are pictures of Tom Hanks holding an identical feather.
Think I have an answer (not necessarily correct of course!) for each clue except the Canadian flags. Think the Union Flag could just be a red herring, indicating the Queen is present - otherwise it's a bit vague.
