Good afternoon one and all. I would appreciate some help on my last few which I have pondered over now for weeks. Clues preferred.
Qu. 47. Cyrus swallowed one of the crown jewels (5) Begins with 'C'
Qu. 82. Measurement of gravity at town in NE Scotland (7) Begins 'G'
Qu. 88. Serious remit. (9) Begins 'G'
Qu. 91. Henry Wood quaffs beer. (8) Begins either 'G' or 'H'
Qu. 164. Headless youth in rough sea (9) Begins 'S'

Another clue for first part-your ankles tend to do this esp on a long journey.

91 Henry Wood's signature with another word for beer inside
88 furrypusscat-this one is fairly easy if you have a thesaurus. Just find a word beginning with g for serious then a word for remit

Hi emeritus, not entirely wasted, I found the answers from the very good clues. I prefer to work them out for myself, so clues were much appreciated. Thanks to all contributions.

Sorry, thought I had finished, found 3 more when copying on to main sheet to complete this excellent quiz. Clues would be a great help.
Qu.87. Batman's city loses out initially, but then gains a partial ranking (8) Begins 'G'. (trying to work round Arkham leaving A off but not got anywhere)
Qu.89. Scam back in nationality (8) Begins 'G'
Qu.153. It passes through locks in a place near Manchester. (8) Begins 'S'

89 think of a nationality of 5 letters b beginning with g. Then think of a 3-lettered word for scam,reverse it inside
87. Batman came from Gotham. Take (o)ut initially and insert part of the word ranking.
89. Another word for scam, three letters, written backwards within a nationality beginning with G - there aren't too many to think about. Home town of Morton.
153. Locks has more than one meaning. What you use to make them look neat and tidy (4) within a place near Manchester (4) starting with S. The end result is way down south.

Thanks to you both. I had the answer to 153, worked it out from the site quinie suggested but hadn't seen the connection to the clue. I can post it off now.
