Saturday night time to break out the Old Tom

The weekend starts here as Cathy Mcgowan used to say and its time to try a drop of the special stuff.Robinsons Old Tom When I was a lad the local landlord would ration people to two pints of the stuff then no more unless you could recite your seven times table backwords. Those were the days of responsable landlords.Has anyone else a preferred weekend only tipple,a story about a miserable landlord or a memory of Cathy Mcgowan?

The landlord of the first pub I used on a regular basis was known throughout the area as a cantankerous old b*****d he was also known for keeping the best beer and god help anybody who asked for a shandy, a splash of lemonade etc as this would result in a tirade about the time and care he spent keeping his beer right. He always finished off the same way that he didn't do this all this work so some dumb a**e hole could spoil it and if they wanted something in their beer they could f**k of to the next pub as their beer was that f*****g bad you had to add some thing to it to make it drinkable.
